I’m really pleased to see that more and more often, companies are looking at how they can improve employee health and wellbeing. We all spend so much time at work that it’s important to make sure we’re working in the healthiest way possible.
I did some research and found that in 2017/18 (according to the HSE):
15.4 million working days were lost to work-related stress, anxiety and depression.
Work-related stress, depression and anxiety accounted for 44% of work-related ill health.
6.6 million working days were lost to work related musculoskeletal disorders, mostly in the back or neck.
Employers are always looking for ways to reduce absences and promote employee health – why not show your staff how much you value them with a regular massage? Massages are usually in 10, 15, or 20 minute sessions; it's only about as long as a tea or cigarette break (and definitely much healthier than that!), but can really improve the health and wellbeing of your staff.
Some benefits of workplace massage include:
Promotes employee health and shows that you value employee wellbeing.
Increases employee motivation and productivity - healthy and cared for employees are more productive and more motivated at work.
Reduces stress, anxiety, and depression – a regular 15-20 minute massage can give an 86% reduction in stress levels.
Relieves muscle tension and pain – including headaches.
Boosts the immune system – a strong immune system means fewer sick days.
All massage is given in a specially designed chair, over clothes and without oil, so no worries about clothing, hair, or makeup getting messed up. It's not just limited to office workers either - the beauty of the chair is that it takes up very little space and can be set up in shops, schools, and other workplaces, as well as in an office.
